Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra

Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1982, bathed in the spring breeze of reform and opening up. After more than 30 years of unremitting pursuit and efforts, it is recognized as one of most outstanding professional symphony orchestras in China. Over the years, the Orchestra has launched many well-organized large-scale original works, such as "Shenzhou Harmony," "Symphony Folk Song ·New Rhyme of Hakka," "Ode to Humanity," "My Motherland," which have been well received by experts, audiences and media in the industry. In 2019, the Orchestra has held 170 performances, including 38 performances in the music season and 100 public welfare performances (Symphony entering the campus, grassroots, etc.). On October 1, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra was honored to participate in the National Day Celebration held in Tian'anmen Square, forming a "thousand people Symphony" together with 15 other excellent symphony orchestras in China to celebrate the 70th birthday of the People's Republic of China.

In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Shenzhen organized the creation of a large-scale Symphony suite "My Motherland" and a tour performance in 2019 successively in Shenzhen, Macao, Lanzhou, Xi'an, Yan'an, Ljubljana, Slovenia, Bergamo, Castro, Nuremberg, Munich, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Baoding and other places, receiving wide welcome and praise from experts and audience at home and abroad.

The orchestra "pursues the first-class, serves the public, stands at the forefront of the times, and performance and creation develop simultaneously" as the firm concept of art construction. The new goal is to build a "First-Class Symphony Orchestra in Asia" with international influence. Therefore, it will continue to reform, innovate, tackle difficulties, work hard, and continue to play the "Good Voice" of Shenzhen. It has also made due contributions to carrying forward Chinese civilization, spreading the advanced culture of the times, building a vigorous cultural construction for Shenzhen and the magnificent "Chinese Dream".
