‘Konghou Concerto’
Under the baton of renowned Chinese composer and conductor Tan Dun, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) will premiere his “Konghou Concerto” commissioned by the orchestra tonight. Percussionist Lin Zhe and konghou players Cui Junzhi and Deng Xiyuan are featured soloists at the water-themed concert, which will also present Smetana’s “Vltava,” Benjamin Britten’s “Four Sea Interludes,” and Tan’s “Water Concerto.”

‘China chic’ concert
Pipa master Fang Jinglong and other traditional Chinese instrument players will bring a night of Chinese folk tunes. Fang is specialized in incorporating modern elements into his adaptations.

‘Disney Wonderland’ concert
A concert featuring popular songs from animations produced by Disney will be staged at the Bay Opera of Shenzhen. Singers from the U.S., the Netherlands and China will bring classic works such as “Peter Pan Suite” as well as more recent songs like “Reflection” from “Mulan” and “Into the Unknown” from “Frozen.”

‘Carmen’

Ballet Flamenco Granada from Spain, one of the three most known flamenco dance troupes in the country, will present a flamenco show of "Carmen" Friday evening.

Philharmonic orchestra

Zhou Li’s abstract paintings

Shenzhen artist Zhou Li’s is hosting her exhibition "Rose of Light" at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning. It offers viewers a glimpse into her own artistic journey, featuring works created from 2001 to 2023.
