Performers and audience members immersed themselves in the joyous atmosphere an expat group created at the Baguang International Biovalley in Dapeng New District in late January.
The performances attracted over 100 construction workers, employees, and residents to participate.

The cultural event kicked off with a parade and was followed by a talent performance. The expat group, role-playing different characters, marched on the path at the venue together with mascots walking on stilts.
After the parade, expat performers from the Shenzhen New Silk Road Art Troupe delivered a song and dance performance, receiving thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd.
The locals, immersed in the multicultural carnival vibe, sang along to Chinese and English songs, and danced to the rhythm of Italian folk dance.
“I really appreciated the organizer giving us a big surprise. We work on the construction sites in normal days, scarcely are able to see splendid international performances like this in Kuichong. I prepare to stay in Kuichong for the Spring Festival, and it’s a warm place,” a construction worker said excitedly.
