Spring Festival holiday events in Dapeng offer a variety of attractions for residents and visitors alike. Here are the highlights offering fun activities during the Spring Festival holiday in Dapeng.
Nan'ao straw dragon dance
The Nan'ao straw dragon dance, a provincial-level cultural intangible heritage, will be staged Feb. 11, the second day of the Year of the Dragon, at Nan'aoxu Town from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The straw dragon dance is a local blessing event, dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), to celebrate Chinese New Year, with individuals blessing their families and friends during the events.

Sightseeing bus route
A new sightseeing double-decker bus route will run from Feb. 10 to 16, providing free service to visitors traveling to and in Dapeng. The bus will have two routes: the first will be running between Window of the World and Dapeng Fortress, and the second is a loop line running within Dapeng peninsula.
For the first route, the buses will depart from Window of the World at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and depart from Dapeng Fortress at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
For the second route, the bus will depart from Xinda market from 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., as well as 7 p.m., running though Dapeng Fortress, Jinsha Bay International Resort, and Nan'ao Square and back to the Xinda market.

Nan'ao seafood market
A bustling seafood market for the Spring Festival celebration is ongoing at Dongyu Community in Nan’ao Subdistrict until Feb. 24. The market offers fresh seafood, dried seafood, rice cakes, Poon Chai, and more. Visitors can also explore the sea, appreciate the sea views, go fishing, and observe fishermen's lives.
Flying Excursion
During the Spring Festival holiday, events for visitors to experience low-altitude flying excursions will be held in Kuichong Subdistrict. The Baguang area plans to offer flight shows, where visitors will have a chance to take helicopters to see Baguang from another perspective. There will also be balloon rides, music, and a gourmet market.

Splendid shows at Dapeng Fortress
The Dapeng Spring Festival carnival will be on show from Feb. 10 to 13, featuring a giant “Pengpeng” Dragon digital decoration at the south gate of Dapeng Fortress.
Dance, Cantonese operas, magic performances, and other shows will be held at various locations within the fortress during the celebration.
Inflatable ducks show
Visitors can enjoy adorable inflatable toy ducks, provided by local brand B.Duck, off Yueliang Bay until Feb. 25, with accompanying theme stores open from Feb. 10 to 14. The on-shore theme market will feature stunning sea views and showcase Nan’ao’s intangible cultural heritage and a spirited Spring Festival celebration.
