FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, unveiled a new tool today aimed at enhancing customs clearance efficiency and driving cross-border trade, underscoring the company's efforts to solidify its prominent position in the Chinese market.
The newly introduced FedEx Online Import Customs Declaration Tool enables customers in China to electronically submit trading data for both low-value shipments (Cat-C*) and high-value shipments (Cat-D**). Users can conveniently access specific Harmonized System (HS) code-based declaration information. Moreover, this tool allows the FedEx clearance team to initiate the review process proactively, thereby minimizing the potential risk of customs clearance delays.

"FedEx strives to provide both transportation services and digital solutions, making supply chains smarter for all our customers," said Poh-Yian Koh, vice president of operations of FedEx China.
"The launch of FedEx Online Import Customs Declaration Tool is our latest move that fulfills this vision. This will further empower our Chinese customers, especially for small and medium-sized businesses that have more flexible demands, with streamlined customs clearance processes, facilitate transport, and promote cross-border trade for our customers with the help of more efficient, convenient, and accurate digital tools.”
China’s foreign trade, particularly imports of bulk commodities and goods essential to people’s lives, has continued to expand steadily. Notably, in the first quarter of this year, China's foreign trade surpassed 10 trillion yuan for the first time in history, which included 4.43 trillion yuan in imports, representing a 5% year-on-year increase.
FedEx, recognized as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) by the General Administration of Customs of China, actively fosters global trade facilitation and fortifies global supply chain security through its extensive transportation networks, creating reliable paths for Chinese companies to engage in global trade.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary in China, FedEx embraces digital transformation and harnesses innovative tools to facilitate customs clearance processes for customers, enhancing import and export efficiency. In October 2023, the company introduced FedEx Ship Manager Lite, a new mobile shipping solution in China, and integrated the FedEx Online Export Declaration Tool to streamline customer operations and elevate export efficiency.
FedEx Electronic Trade Documents, another innovation, empowers customers to submit international shipment documents electronically, simplifying the printing process and reducing carbon emissions. Moreover, FedEx's proficient team can tailor solutions to address unique operational requirements.
