Fifteen families with children under the age of six embarked on a tour of the pre-preparatory campus of The King’s School Shenzhen in Qianhai to experience the unique international educational concepts and atmosphere offered by the school Saturday morning.

The tour kicked off with an engaging language experience class led by Benedict Raikes, a teacher from the school. He used real props and body language to teach the children relevant words and spark interactions between the students and the educator.

James Balcombe, the co-head of the pre-prep school at The King’s School Shenzhen, introduces the school to parents.

The children then proceeded to participate in a hands-on handwork class, designed to nurture their creativity. Meanwhile, the parents received a detailed introduction to the educational principles and daily operations of the school from James Balcombe, the co-head of the pre-prep school at the school.

They also explored the entire campus to gain a comprehensive understanding of the school’s facilities and surroundings.

Marc Ribas from Spain, who attended the event with his 19-month-old daughter, expressed his excitement about the tour, highlighting his admiration for the school’s forest area, reminiscent of their past life in the countryside of Spain.

“The facilities and location of the school are appealing, and I will continue to research potential schools for my daughter’s future education,” he said.

Jointly organized by the King’s School Shenzhem, the Qianhai Authority, and Shenzhen Daily, the event was also held to celebrate the successful conclusion of the second installment of the HiQianhai brand activities, which were initiated last month. HiQianhai is an event series that brings together various international enterprises and organizations within the Qianhai area, hosting events regularly on the first Saturday of every month.

Qianhai has always considered education a crucial pillar in driving its regional development. Presently, Qianhai is home to 13 international schools, including The King’s School Shenzhen, Harrow International School Shenzhen Qianhai, and Huitong School & Studios. These institutions cater to a broad spectrum of students, from early childhood education to K12, providing a diverse array of international educational programs for mainland residents, Hong Kong and Macao inhabitants, Taiwan residents, and foreign nationals in Qianhai. These schools not only offer globally recognized courses such as DSE, IB, IGCSE, and A Level but also place significant emphasis on nurturing students’ holistic development and leadership skills, thereby establishing a robust foundation for their future endeavors.

The King’s School Canterbury, founded over 1,400 years ago in 597 in Europe, launched its pre-prep campus in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District in 2019. This marks the first overseas branch of The King’s School, catering to students aged two to six. In the fall of 2022, The King’s School’s Prep and Senior School Campus officially commenced classes, providing 1,500 school placements for students aged six to 18.
