The MSC Bellissima cruise ship will embark on its maiden voyage of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) from the Shenzhen Cruise Homeport in Shekou on June 29, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.

Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC), the Switzerland-based operator of the Bellissima cruises, is now offering coupons worth a maximum of 500 yuan (US$69) to people in Shenzhen and the GBA who are interested in taking a trip on three designated cruise routes this summer. The coupons can be combined with other discounts, including a generous offer of up to 50% off for a second ticket, as outlined by the cruise operator.

The promotional coupons and discounts are applicable to Bellissima cruises departing from the Shenzhen Cruise Homeport between June 29 and July 22, according to the Chinese-language news report. Bookings must be made before June 18 in order to take advantage of these offers.

Dubbed Asia’s flagship, the MSC Bellissima began operating in 2019, and its first Chinese voyage departed from Shanghai on March 16 this year. At 315 meters in length and 75.5 meters in height, the MSC Bellissima can accommodate up to 5,686 passengers in its 2,217 rooms.

The luxury cruise ship features a diverse range of amenities tailored to GBA travelers, such as a 96-meter central promenade filled with boutiques, restaurants, and other entertainment venues, a pool, spa services, and a children’s playground.

MSC will operate eight summer cruise routes, varying from two to five nights, that depart from the Shenzhen Cruise Homeport and travel to various destinations including Hong Kong and Okinawa, Japan.
