SZ scraps reservation system for scenic spots, cultural venues

Starting today, the Shenzhen Museum’s History and Folk Culture Division and the Former Site of the Dongjiang Guerrilla Command will be open to the public without requiring reservations.

This decision marks the end of the reservation system for all tourist attractions and cultural venues in Shenzhen, including 61 museums, 33 art galleries, 12 libraries, and 10 cultural centers, greatly enhancing convenience for residents and visitors alike.

Before this change, the city’s 17 A-level tourist attractions had already adopted a no-reservation policy, and most public cultural venues had also eliminated their reservation requirements.

Additionally, six key city and district-level museums, including the Shenzhen Museum’s History and Folk Culture Division and Ancient Art Division, the Nanshan Museum, the Nantou Ancient Town Museum, the Zhongying Street History Museum, and the Dapeng New Area Museum, will extend their opening hours during the summer season (from July 12 to August 30).

These adjustments include opening on Mondays (previously closed), extending opening hours in the morning and evening, and offering more daytime and nighttime activities. As a result, citizens and tourists can now choose to visit museums in the evening.
