A total of 27 youth choirs showcased their beautiful voices at the Shenzhen Media Building in Futian District on Aug. 2 as part of the "Aesthetic Education For All" Youth Ethnic Chorus Showcase.
More than 1,000 children from various regions in China, including Sichuan, Chongqing, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Yunnan, performed iconic folk songs and adapted pieces. The songs, which celebrate the diverse cultures of these areas, express the children's love for their homeland, their fondness for their hometowns, and their aspirations for the future.
Since its launch in April, the event has garnered enthusiastic responses from across the country. All 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities have contributed programs to the showcase.
Zhao Cong, director of the China National Traditional Orchestra, noted that the event not only cultivates young people's musical literacy and aesthetic appreciation but also deepens their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
Future showcases will be held in Changsha, Hunan Province; Xuanwei, Yunnan Province; and Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, focusing on opera and folk dance.
