

Tickets sold out for 'Wing Chun' London debut

The much-anticipated U.K. debut of the Shenzhen dance drama “Wing Chun” will take place at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London on Friday local time.
The production, which will run for 12 performances, has already sold out tickets for its inaugural show.

Located in the famous West End of London, the Sadler’s Wells Theatre has more than 300 years of history and is renowned for its exceptional dance performances. The theatre is a favorite with local audience, who usually buy tickets two to three days in advance.
As the excitement of the premiere builds, the British media have also caught the attention. On Thursday afternoon local time, British photojournalists were seen at the theater’s rehearsal venue, capturing the preparations for the highly-anticipated performance.

Chang Hongji, who plays Master Yip Man in the dance drama, caused a stir in London with his flash mobs at landmarks such as Big Ben on Thursday morning local time. His stunning “Wing Chun” dance moves caught the attention of both London citizens and tourists.

“For anyone who studies dance, the Sadler’s Wells Theatre holds great significance. I’ve longed to visit this venue to watch plays, exchange ideas, and learn, yet I never anticipated that my first experience here would involve dancing on this revered stage,” she said.
Chang also expressed his excitement for the upcoming performances.
“I’d like to welcome the British audience to stay tuned for the London debut, and we will also strive to show our best form as we welcome our first time on such a great stage,” he told Shenzhen Daily in an interview at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre.

“I hope everyone can come to the theater to watch ‘Wing Chun,’ through which we tell the stories of Shenzhen and China,” he said.
