Shenzhen Civic Center light shows in Futian

Shenzhen Civic Center is the administrative center of Shenzhen. It has the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Shenzhen People’s Congress and Shenzhen Museum and so on. It is also a place for citizens’ entertainment.

The fantastic light show at Shenzhen Civic Center is one of the best things to do in Shenzhen at night. There are usually 43 buildings, 1.18 million LED lights participating in the light show. In accordance with the music, the lights form different patterns in different colors, giving visitors a grand visual feast.

The dynamic light shows in central Futian are played regularly on the façades of the high-rise buildings every Friday and Saturday as well as one day before and on some Chinese holidays, including New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.

The shows start at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on these days from November to March, and at 7:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. from April to October. Each show lasts 15 minutes.

Visitors hoping to watch the light shows at Civic Center Square are required to make reservations via the “福田中心区夜景灯光预约导引服务”WeChat miniprogram. Metro passengers are advised to take exits B or F at Civic Center Station to reach the viewing area.You may also watch them without reservations from other locations nearby such as the Lianhua Hill.

Aside from the dynamic light shows, citizens can appreciate regular lights from buildings in the Futian CBD Mondays to Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be no lights shown every Sunday.
