Norwegian Film Festival

Eight Norwegian films are being featured at a film festival across two cinemas in Nanshan. Additionally, moviegoers will have the opportunity to participate in two after-screening discussions with the directors of "Utøya July 22" and "Songs of Earth" this Saturday and Sunday.

Art Aquarium

Having toured the world for over 40 sessions and garnered significant popularity, thousands of goldfish will enchant audiences at the "Art Aquarium" exhibition, featuring unique Chinese-style installations. Some exclusive exhibits, available only in China, will make their global debut at this exhibition.

An afternoon of romantic classical music

The Unicorn Chamber Orchestra, composed of talented musicians who are graduates of prestigious music schools in China and abroad, will present a concert this Sunday afternoon showcasing romantic classical music. The program will feature renowned pieces by composers such as Bizet, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. This event will also highlight soloists including violinists Zhang Weijie and Ming Yujing, violist Jin Cheng, cellist Chen Sirui, and pianist Gu Yunhan.

‘Pingtan Impression’

Chinese dance show “Pingtan Impression,” directed by renowned Chinese dancer and choreographer Yang Liping, will hit the Shenzhen stage. With its unique dance language, simple but refreshing, it combines inspiration drawn from local history, humanism, seascapes, folk stories, myths, and legends from Pingtan County in Fujian Province.

Cantonese opera

‘God of War’

The musical “God of War” draws from well-known mythological tales. While retaining the essence of traditional stories, it boldly offers a broader perspective and creative storytelling that enriches the character of Yang Jian, also known as Erlang Shen, a mythical deity with a third eye in the center of his forehead.

Crossover concert

Erhu player Meng Xiaoxu, yangqin (Chinese hammered dulcimer) player Chou Wanning, and pianist Chen Xiaomeng, all young teachers at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, will perform a crossover concert with the Guangzhou-based Xingyue String Quartet. The program will feature familiar Chinese songs such as “Why Are Flowers So Red” and “Jiu Er,” as well as Chinese musical pieces including “Galloping War Horses” and “You Long Zou Xiang,” depicting dragon boat races in South China and composed by Li Bochan.

Glamour of water and ink art

“A Panoramic View of All the Mountains: Academic Exchange Exhibition of Chinese Painting Masters” showcases the works of more than 50 contemporary artists who wield significant national influence, with the aspiration to orchestrate a high-caliber and influential academic exchange gala.
