Futian Public Culture and Sports Development Center

Established in 2012, the Futian Public Culture and Sports Development Center is the first directly affiliated public institution established by the district in the reform of cultural system.

Thecenter is responsible for managing and operating the cultural and sports facilities in the district of more than 40,000 square meters, including five theme cultural centers, one art gallery and one stadium, and for the overall guidance of 10 street branches and 92 community service stations.

The center also hosts mass cultural and sports activities and all kinds of public training on art and sports, organizes events to create fine literary worksand promotes public cultural and sports products. While meeting the basic cultural rights and interests of the people in the district, the center is committed to rapidly improving the culture as a soft power in the urban area, and helping create culture with more distinctive characteristics of being open, diverse, inclusive, innovative, creative, modern and fashionable, so as to contribute to building Futian into a high quality cultural power and a pioneer in civilization building, and contribute to building Shenzhen into a regional cultural center city that benefits the Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area.


Theater Theme Hall

The Theater Theme Hall has a construction area of approximately 7,997 square meters. It features a "Futian 24H Study Room," exhibition halls, a leisure bar, rehearsal rooms, a salon area, a cultural volunteer station, and a theater that can accommodate about 600 people. It regularly hosts a series of activities such as art salons, multidimensional drama innovation workshops, and weekend drama gatherings throughout the year.

Focusing on drama, the hall collaborates with organizations like the Meng Jinghui Futian Drama Studio and the Pu Cunxin Futian Children's Drama Development Studio. Leveraging the establishment of the first China Children and Youth Drama Art Popularization and Promotion Center in Futian, it actively promotes original, local, and youth drama development. Through events like the “Contemporary Drama Biennale” and the “Futian Children's Education Drama Week,” it aims to make Futian a hub for drama.

Dance Hall

The Dance Hall has a construction area of approximately 4,553 square meters and includes a themed library, dance rehearsal rooms, a multifunctional hall, a cultural volunteer station, a choir room, a training room, and a stage for square dancing. It holds a variety of activities year-round, including "Colorful Seasons," "Weekend Dance," and "Dance Carnival" art salons.

The hall has distinct dance characteristics, housing quality groups like the Futian Dance Rainbow Art Troupe and the Futian Autumn Dream Dance Troupe. By introducing excellent productions and creating boutique dance teams, it aims to become a "Home of Dance" gathering dancers, enthusiasts, and practitioners.

Music Hall

The Music Hall covers approximately 5,800 square meters and includes a music-themed library, an art salon area, multi-functional rehearsal rooms, a music production studio, a cultural volunteer station, practice rooms, and a small theater with a capacity of more than 200 people. The pavilion has distinct musical themes and boasts groups such as the Autumn Voice Choir, the Futian Senior University Art Troupe, the Spring Sound Art Troupe, and others. It hosts events like the Futian Choir Festival, Weekend Music Gathering, Music Journey Art Salon, Voice Study Room, and Music Master Sharing Classes, aiming to create a "home for music" for artists, music workers, and enthusiasts.

Youth Culture Hall

The Youth Culture Hall covers approximately 7,299 square meters and is the first youth-themed cultural center in the country, focusing on serving young people.

It features a “Futian 24H Study Room,” a metaverse experience space, a virtual studio, a tabletop gaming space, a DJ experience space, a trendy convenience store, a café, a recording studio, an intelligent rehearsal hall, salon area, and a medium theater with 564 seats.

In response to the diverse cultural needs of young people, the Youth Culture Hall regularly holds events like Freestyle Mixing Master Show, Electric Storm DJ parties, and Dance Impossible street dance competitions for youth. It collaborates with high-quality teams such as Meng Jinghui Theatre Studio and Happy Mahua, offering programs including youth comedy, avant-garde drama, trendy exhibitions, and art salons, aiming to create a top-notch public cultural service center for youth combining fashion, trend, and art.

Intangible Heritage Museum

The Intangible Heritage Museum covers an area of approximately 2,760 square meters and includes a themed library, an intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall, a special small theater, a cultural volunteer station, a rehearsal room, and various arts teams, including the intangible cultural heritage volunteer art troupe, a children's arts troupe, and the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey Shadow Puppet Club.

The museum integrates themed book reading, traditional cultural exhibitions, and intangible heritage training and transmission, combining functions such as folk art appreciation, intangible cultural heritage inheritance, and exchange cooperation. By creating a special space, it hosts activities like the “Time Echo” art salon, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, and experiential events to promote folk art and enrich the cultural life of local residents.

Stadium

The Stadium was put into use in 2000, covering an area of 2,330 square meters and featuring an 8-lane, 50-meter standard outdoor swimming pool and a children's pool.

The standard pool has a water depth ranging from 1.3 to 2 meters, while the children's pool has a depth of 0.8 meters. The facility utilizes an intelligent circulating water quality treatment system and maintains a high-quality sanitary environment.

It is committed to benefiting the public through sports, offering community sports services, and hosting events and swimming training.

Futian Art Museum

The Futian Art Museum is a large public cultural venue invested in and constructed by the Futian district government. It integrates exhibition, collection, research, communication, and public art education, shouldering the responsibilities of "promoting traditional culture, collecting art treasures, enhancing international and domestic exchanges, and benefiting public cultural services." It is an important cultural landmark in Shenzhen.

The Futian Art Museum officially opened its doors in September 2020, with a building area of 10,575 square meters and an exhibition area of 1,183 square meters. It serves as a significant professional art exhibition venue in Futian, regularly hosting international, national, provincial, municipal, and district-level professional art exhibitions.

Sky Museum

The Sky Museum is an art museum at a high altitude that is rarely-seen in Shenzhen’s CBD, enjoying a view of the Bay area. Covering an area of nearly 50,000 square meters, the museum is divided into six sections, three exhibition areas and three functional areas. It is designed to be a complex with multiple functions and a pioneering platform for international artistic exchange.

The museums’ opening exhibition features the masterpieces from the Galleria Nazionale d’ Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. The exhibition, which runs through June 25, features a display of over 60 precious and representative works of Western masters from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Sky Museum has signed a cooperation agreement with 12 primary and secondary schools in Shenzhen for improving art education in Shenzhen. Centering on the Sky Museum and its collections, art education activities will be showcased both online and offline in the future.

Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum

The Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum is a national non-profit art museum dedicated to the cultural communication, named after  Guan Shanyue, the famous Chinese painting artist, educator and master of the Lingnan School of Chinese painting.

The museum is building up its academic positions oriented by the research and exhibition of Guan's art, Chinese art of the middle and late 20th century, and contemporary art design. The museum occupies a land of 8,000 square meters, a construction area of 16,000 square meters, with one round central exhibition hall, five standard indoor exhibition halls and two permanent exhibition halls for Guan's art. It has a total area of 3,600 square meters for indoor exhibition and 2,000 square meters for outdoor exhibition. The length of exhibition line is 500 meters, with extra 500 meters for special needs. Positioned as an academic institution, the museum is deeply committed to building exhibition brands, and constructing a sound and efficient public art service system providing audience-oriented public services, allowing the citizens to realize their rights of culture and arts in a refined humanistic and recreational environment. We aspire to build up a modernized art museum which focuses on collections, integrates the functions of a museum of famous artists and a national art museum, and adapts to the cultural development of Shenzhen.

HQB Museum

The HQB Museum, or Huaqiangbei Museum, a museum recording and protecting the unique culture of the Huaqiangbei electronics market, opened to the public Dec. 31, 2020.

With a floor area of 3,000 square meters, the museum, located on the fifth floor of the Modern Window Commercial Plaza near the Huaqiang North Metro Station, uses cool sounds, lights and electronic technologies to present the 40-year history of Huaqiangbei. Known worldwide as the No. 1 electronics market in China, Huaqiangbei grew from a street of small electronics processing and trade outlets into an Aladdin’s cave of components, gadgets and fashion.

Items in the museum’s permanent exhibition reflect collective memories of the area along with its social and economic development, including electronic products made in Huaqiangbei over the past 40 years as well as old photos.

Shenzhen Museum of Ancient Art

Established in Nov. 1988, the Shenzhen Museum of Ancient Art is one of the eight cultural facilities opened when the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone was first established. The museum is recognized as one of the top 10 historic buildings of reform and opening up in Shenzhen. Featuring Chinese ancient art, the museum is considered to be the center of ancient art collection, research, exhibition and art education in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen Museum of History and Folk Culture

The Shenzhen Museum of History and Folk Culture is a center for relic collections and historical research in the city. There are more than 20,000 collections in the museum, including ancient fossils, precious historic relics and art treasures from ancient China. The museum also has many important files and documents related to Shenzhen's history and development.

Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning

The Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning (MOCAUP) includes the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Shenzhen Museum of Urban Planning. The Museum of Contemporary Art features contemporary artworks from across the world, while the Shenzhen Museum of Urban Planning is a platform to showcase the urban planning of the city.
