6th Shenzhen Book Fair kicks off

The 6th Shenzhen Book Fair officially opened on Nov. 15, welcoming book enthusiasts and cultural aficionados for a four-day event that runs until Nov. 18.

During the opening ceremony at Shenzhen Book City’s CBD store, Tang Hanlong, president of Shenzhen Publishing Group, highlighted the fair’s mission to promote reading and cultural growth. “This event is inspired by books and aims to nurture learning and personal growth through reading,” Tang said. “It serves as a platform to enhance cultural literacy and drive cultural progress across the city,” he added.
Yang Liguang, author of “The Roaring Shenzhen River” and a representative of Shenzhen’s local literary scene, expressed his pride in Shenzhen’s commitment to reading. “There’s no greater treasure than books,” said Yang. “As a writer, I’m proud to grow in a city so deeply rooted in literary culture. Shenzhen’s efforts, such as the annual Reading Month and this book fair, create an outstanding environment for readers and writers alike,” he said.
This year’s book fair features more than 600 domestic and international publishers and offers approximately 400,000 books. Over 100 events are planned, ranging from new book showcases and author talks to interactive tech experiences and creative workshops. With eight themed exhibition areas, the fair promises a diverse and engaging experience that blends traditional and modern elements of reading.
Venues across the city

The fair consists of one main venue and six branch venues. The main venue is located at Shenzhen Book City’s CBD store, while subvenues are spread across Luohu, Nanshan, Bao’an, Longgang, and Longhua Book City locations, as well as the Wanda Plaza in Guangming District.
Key highlights
Overseas Publications: Curated by EON Books, this section showcases more than 3,000 foreign-language books, including classics and bestsellers from renowned publishers such as Penguin Random House, DK, and Bloomsbury.
Technology Zone: This zone features interactive exhibits from tech companies, including smart devices, tech IP derivative displays, and youth STEM activities. A standout is iFlytek’s “AI Technology Experience Exhibit,” offering modules such as “Dream Space,” “Calligraphy Robot,” and “Conversations with the Future.” Visitors can engage with cutting-edge technology while exploring publishing innovations.
Special offers for readers
The book fair also offers exclusive discounts to readers, with average prices reduced by 30% and select items discounted up to 60%. Over 610,000 consumer vouchers are available, allowing additional savings. Some books at the main venue are priced as low as 72% off after discounts.
Readers can claim vouchers through the "深圳书展“ WeChat mini-program before Nov. 18. Discount options include 25 yuan off after spending 100 yuan or more, 50 yuan off after spending 200 yuan or more, and 300 yuan off after spending 1,000 yuan or more on-site.
