Elevator renovation in the city

A total of 100 old elevators in Shenzhen’s residential buildings have been renovated, supported by ultra-long-term special treasury bonds, the most in Guangdong Province. Under the equipment renewal initiative, which will continue this year, each elevator requiring renewal can receive a subsidy of 150,000 yuan (US$20,500).

Currently, there are 194,000 elevators in use in the city, of which 44,000 have been in operation for more than 15 years. Approximately 180,000 of these are used in residential estates.
