The Lantern Festival, which falls on Wednesday this year, is a Chinese traditional festival celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month. It marks the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. Eating yuanxiao, the sweet dumplings made of glutinous rice flour, guessing lantern riddles, and enjoying dragon and lion dances are several common and essential folk customs of the festival.
