

Job fair offers 1,500 positions

Amid a competitive job market, Shenzhen hosted a major job fair Friday, drawing hundreds of job seekers eager for opportunities in high-demand fields.
Held at the Shenzhen Labor and Employment Building in Futian District, the event featured 62 companies offering more than 1,500 positions across various industries, with some employers raising salaries by as much as 20% to attract top talent.
By 10 a.m. of Friday, long queues had formed at the booths of some companies.
Li Yixuan, a manager of the human resources department at Shenzhen Jiasai Technology Co. Ltd, stated, “We are recruiting for positions such as embedded software engineer and optical structural engineer, among others. Currently, talent in these areas remains scarce, so we are offering a highly competitive monthly salary range of 25,000 yuan (US$3,430) to 40,000 yuan. This represents an approximately 20% increase in salary for the same positions compared to last year.”
Ju Wenhai, general manager of Shenzhen Univo Industrial Co. Ltd., said that the company is currently seeking employees for foreign trade and e-business positions. "We highly value the work experience of job seekers. Overall, Shenzhen offers a favorable employment environment, especially for research and development talent, who have a distinct advantage when seeking job opportunities in the city," said Ju.
The job fair was hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and organized by the Shenzhen Public Employment Service Center.
Participating companies spanned a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing, the internet, commercial services, catering, wholesale, and retail. They offered a diverse range of positions, such as project engineers, legal professionals, sales personnel, administrative staff, technicians, and general laborers, with the highest monthly salaries exceeding 40,000 yuan.
A 2024 graduate surnamed Peng, who majored in international trade, said he had noticed the job fair announcement before the Spring Festival and traveled to Shenzhen after the holiday.
Peng, who is confident about finding a suitable job, observed that Shenzhen is the preferred destination for young people to start businesses and seek employment. He aims to gain more experience and achieve better career development in Shenzhen. During the event, he applied for two positions: management trainee and financial planner.
The job fair also featured a career planning service zone to help job seekers find suitable opportunities. According to the municipal human resources and social security bureau, more job fairs will be held in the city through March.
