Step into a world where nature and culture converge at “Songs of the Rainforest: Canoes, Totems and Markets From the Tropics,” now captivating visitors at OCAT in Nanshan District. This immersive exhibition brings guests deep into the heart of the tropical rainforest, where towering trees whisper ancient stories and skilled artisans transform natural materials into exquisite works of art.

Over 300 remarkable wood carvings are on display, complemented by immersive multimedia displays and extensive field research. From intricately carved totems to elegantly crafted canoes, each piece on display reflects the ingenuity and traditions of rainforest communities.

Organized into five thematic zones — “Rain and Forest,” “Songs of the Canoe,” “Everything Has a Spirit,” “Jungle Theater,” and “Rainforest Market” — the exhibition offers a fascinating exploration of the cultural and spiritual heritage woven into these creations.
