Shenzhen ends '5 suspensions,' transit resumes

As Typhoon Ragasa weakens and moves away from the city, Shenzhen began lifting its emergency restrictions in the afternoon. Key transportation services, including metro, airport, high-speed rail, and cross-border access, are gradually resuming.


Metro back in service from 4 p.m.

Shenzhen’s Metro network resumed services at 4 p.m. this afternoon.

According to the notice from Shenzhen Metro Group, the trains will operate at six- to nine-minute intervals after the resumption of service.  

The operator reminded commuters to stay update with the weather information and call (0755) 8896-0600 if they need help.

Shenzhen Bay Bridge, checkpoint also reopen

According to the Shenzhen Port Office, the Shenzhen Bay Bridge resumed operation at 4:30 p.m. today. The Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint resumed services simultaneously.


Highways and tunnels fully reopen

Also from 4 p.m., Shenzhen lifted all traffic control measures on:

All expressways, including toll-free sections

Key tunnels and roadways: including Binhai Submerged Tunnel, Chunfeng Tunnel, Guimiao Tunnel, Qianhai Underground Roads, Mawan Cross-sea Passage, and the Eastern Border Link Road, including all ramps

Drivers are urged to stay alert and follow the instructions of traffic police where necessary.


Bus, taxi, and intercity transport resume

Also from 4 p.m., urban buses, intercity coaches, taxi services, and ride-hailing vehicles have resumed operations citywide, including coach stations, stops, and pick-up points.


Airport to reopen at 8 p.m.

The Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport will also resume service from 8 p.m. today. Passengers are encouraged to check with airlines for real-time updates.


High-speed rail to resume from midnight

Starting midnight, multiple railway lines will gradually resume train operations, including:

Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong high-speed railway

Beijing–Hong Kong high-speed railway

Ningbo–Guangzhou high-speed railway

Hangzhou–Shenzhen high-speed railway

Meizhou–Shantou high-speed railway

Longyan–Longchuan high-speed railway

Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway

Beijing–Kowloon railway

Passengers are advised to confirm departure times via China Railway’s official platforms.

The city implemented "five suspension" measures at workplaces, business venues, markets starting from 2 p.m. yesterday as Super Typhoon Ragasa was expected to bring strong winds, heavy rain between Tuesday and Wednesday.


Ragasa makes landfall in Guangdong, heavy rain lingers 

Workers in rain gear clear fallen branches from a street near Renmin Park in Luohu District today, as cleanup operations continue following Typhoon Ragasa.  

According to official meteorological reports, Typhoon Ragasa made landfall around 5 p.m. this afternoon along the coast of Hailing Island in Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, with a maximum intensity of Category 13 (typhoon level) at the time of landfall.

The city’s meteorological observatory has lowered the typhoon red alert to the orange level as Typhoon Ragasa has faded and left the city.

During the past three hours, the rainfall in Luohu District, Yantian District, and Pinghu, Nanwan, Buji, Longcheng, Henggang, Jihua, and Yuanshan subdistricts in Longgang has exceeded 70 millimeters.

It is forecast that there will be an additional 50 to 100 millimeters of precipitation in the coming three hours. The Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory issued a red rainstorm warning signal for the above-mentioned areas at 3:50 p.m.
