Direct shuttle links Metro to Wutong Mountain trailhead

A new shuttle line linking the Metro directly to the Lingyun Road trailhead of Wutong Mountain has launched, offering residents and visitors a more convenient way to begin their climb.

Affectionately known as Shenzhen’s “No. 1 peak,” Wutong Mountain is a beloved city landmark and a popular weekend destination for many locals. Before the shuttle began operating, reaching the Lingyun Road trailhead from Shenzhen Metro’s Wutong Mountain South Station required a long walk. That trek could sap hikers’ energy and enthusiasm and deter families with young children or elderly members from attempting the climb.

The new shuttle provides a seamless connection between the Metro and the trailhead, linking exits C1 and D of Wutong Mountain South Station directly with the Lingyun Road entrance so passengers can “step off the subway and start hiking.” The shuttle runs both ways along a dedicated route, making transfers more efficient and reliable.

In addition to shortening travel time, the shuttle makes Wutong Mountain more accessible to less-mobile visitors, opening the city’s favorite peak to a wider range of residents and tourists.

Terminal stations: Wutong Mountain South Station (梧桐山南地铁站) and Lingyun Road hiking trailhead (凌云道登山口)

Stops: Wutong Mountain South Station Exit C1, Wutong Mountain South Station Exit D, Xiantong Sports Park, Fengfantai, Lingyun Road hiking trailhead

Service hours: Weekends and public holidays only

From Wutong Mountain South Station to Lingyun Road hiking trailhead: 8 a.m.–6 p.m.

From Lingyun Road hiking trailhead to Wutong Mountain South Station: 8:10 a.m.–6:10 p.m.

Intervals: Every 10–15 minutes

Fare: 5 yuan (US$0.71) per ride
