Shenzhen University of Information Technology officially opened on Jan. 8, 2026. It evolved from the former Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, which was founded in 2002.
In its initial phase, the university will offer five vocational undergraduate programs: software engineering technology, modern communication engineering, integrated circuit engineering technology, intelligent manufacturing engineering technology, and embedded technology.
Focused on information technology, the university has developed strong clusters of majors in integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, software technology, intelligent manufacturing, and modern communications. Centered on industry-education integration, it has deepened collaborations with leading enterprises to establish advanced engineering classes and specialized programs, fostering a cooperative ecosystem for talent development with industry partners.
The university has launched research institutes focused on future industries, developed provincial- and ministerial-level research platforms, and jointly built R&D centers with enterprises. Its engineering science discipline has entered the ESI global rankings. Faculty members have received national-level talent awards and been included in the global top 2% scientists list, providing strong support for high-quality education. In recent years, students have also achieved outstanding results in various skills competitions and innovation contests.
Shenzhen University of Information Technology aims to align with the digital-intelligent era and to cultivate high-quality, technically skilled, and practically capable graduates who are digitally proficient, interdisciplinary, innovative, and application-oriented.
