Luohu District on Thursday unveiled 10 "exemplary innovation scenarios in 2025" during a conference at the Yunqi International Technology & Finance Center.

The initiatives demonstrate the integration of technology into various sectors, including driverless buses, low-altitude tourism, intelligent care for seniors, smart urban security, and green development through the "Harmony ESG" system.

The event drew nearly 200 attendees, including government representatives from Shenzhen and Hong Kong and tech company executives. The conference aimed to bridge innovation resources between the two neighboring cities.

District officials also announced a first batch of 41 innovation projects expected to attract more than 100 million yuan (US$14.4 million) in investment. These projects span six key industries: aerospace, artificial intelligence, life science, energy conservation, smart living, and the OpenAtom OpenHarmony ecosystem.

Jim Zeng encourages Shenzhen-based firms to use Hong Kong as a global springboard at the conference.

Jim Zeng, director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's GBA service center, encouraged Shenzhen-based firms to use Hong Kong as a global springboard.

"My suggestion is that tech companies in Shenzhen and [other parts of] the mainland should first test their products and solutions in Hong Kong and then promote them to the global market," Zeng said.

During the conference, 12 companies and institutes were named as Luohu’s initial partners for developing innovation applications. Geovis Technology Co. signed an agreement with the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (Hong Kong) to expand cooperation in the low-altitude sector.

Additionally, Luohu introduced eight innovation centers, including the Asia-Pacific SMEs Cooperation Zone and the OpenAtom OpenHarmony Ecology Applied Innovation Center.

Lai Lixia, head of the industrial development department for the Luohu District Development and Reform Bureau, said the district has earmarked 500 million yuan to support these applications.

"We welcome capable companies and institutes to join us and achieve win-win results," Lai said.
