Starbucks has transformed its store at UpperHills in Futian District into a “rose garden” just in time for spring, making it the company’s first-ever rose-themed flagship store in China. Located on the third floor of the trendy lifestyle hub, the new flagship invites visitors to step through a rose-adorned door to join an immersive experience designed to celebrate the season in full bloom.
The opening coincided with the much-anticipated return of the brand’s beloved Rose 20 series, in which each serving of a rose-infused beverage is crafted from approximately 20 freshly extracted rosebuds, delivering bright floral notes that capture spring’s romantic essence.

Starting March 7, more than 160 Starbucks stores across multiple Chinese cities have “blossomed” into rose-themed experiential spaces, extending the floral fantasy from Shenzhen to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and beyond. The romance reached its peak on the morning of March 7, when the Futian District Civil Affairs Bureau partnered with Starbucks at the Shenzhen flagship to host a rose-themed collective wedding certificate ceremony.
Nine couples exchanged vows in the “rose garden” setting, using flowers as their witness and love as their foundation as they embarked on a new chapter of happiness. The event marked an innovative collaboration between government and enterprise, further enriching Shenzhen’s “sweet economy” — a term that describes experiences tied to love, celebration and emotional connection.

Since first arriving in Shenzhen in 2002, Starbucks has continuously pushed boundaries in category development, customization, and experiential store design across South China. Over two decades, the brand has introduced numerous regional firsts in the area, consistently delivering increasingly diverse coffee experiences to local consumers while deepening its connection to the communities it serves.
Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur, a hopeless romantic, or simply someone yearning for a breath of spring, these rose-adorned spaces invite you to pause, savor, and celebrate the season in full bloom.
