Shenzhen will ring in the New Year with science, art and stargazing as the Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum in Guangming District hosts a special “New-Quality Future Night” on Dec. 31. Designed as a tech-infused alternative to crowded countdown parties, the museum will extend its opening hours until midnight, with its first and second floors open to the public free of charge.

The Forum on Major Scientific Infrastructure Planning and Collaborative Operations, a parallel session of the Guangming Science City Forum, was held Dec. 5 at Guangming Life Science Park.

​More than 150 experts and scholars from China and Russia convened in Shenzhen’s Guangming District from Nov. 16 to 17 for the 2025 International Forum on Innovation Cooperation in Molecular Medicine, hosted by Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) in partnership with the Russian Association of Molecular Medicine and Experimental Genetics Experts.

Guangming District strengthened its international partnerships Nov. 14 by signing a Memorandum of Friendly Cooperation with Innopolis, an innovation-driven city in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.

The highly anticipated Third Shenzhen Bay Area Youth Drama Season is set to take center stage in Guangming District from Nov. 21 to 30, bringing together young creative talent and top-tier productions.

Guangming District has unveiled its first locally produced documentary, Warm Sunshine of Jingkou Village, directed by renowned Chinese filmmaker Li Yawei.

The Institute of Advanced Light Source Facilities, Shenzhen (IASF) officially moved into its new comprehensive building Oct. 22, marking a major milestone in the development of the mega science facilities cluster in Guangming Science City.

Recently, Guangming Technology Finance Building was awarded the LEED Platinum certification for Operations and Management by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), becoming the first office building in Guangming District to earn this prestigious recognition.
