China is committed to turning the vision of an Asia-Pacific community into concrete actions and transforming the blueprint into reality as it prepares to host the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen this November, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a press conference yesterday on the sidelines of the annual session of China’s top legislature in Beijing.

Shenzhen kicked off the APEC “China Year” campaign on Feb. 27, unveiling a series of promotional initiatives designed to sustain a high-profile public atmosphere ahead of the 2026 APEC meetings in the city.

As the inaugural official event for science, technology and innovation cooperation during China’s 2026 APEC host year, the 27th APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) Meeting was successfully convened in Guangzhou on February 1, 2026, by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China.

China joined APEC in 1991.

APEC is the premier economic cooperation forum in the Asia-Pacific region.

The APEC Photo Contest began in 2011 to raise awareness on APEC's mission, achievements, and impact on people's lives in the region.
