Shenzhen Book City CBD store (Futian) (深圳书城中心店)
First stop is the massive Shenzhen Central Book Mall and library located at Futian right at Childrens Palace metro station. Best bet is to head upstairs to Eon Bookstore (Shenzhen Yiwen Book IMP&EXP.Co.) where you can find rows of imported books of many genres. It’s the best range I have seen so far – http://www.eonbooks.com.cn. Shenzhen Book City is a pretty cool place featuring many cafes such as Gaga, Pizza Hut, Croissants De France bakery & cafe, BreadTalk bakery cafe, Costa Coffee, Starbucks and more.

Nanshan Book City (深圳书城南山店)
There’s a couple of shelves of books at Nanshan Book City. Go up top the top floor.

Metro: nearest metro station is Huo Hai (10 minutes walk)
Luohu Book City (深圳书城罗湖店)
Small range of English books such as for learning Chinese.

Also, for magazines and English newspapers, outside of the local Shenzhen Daily, check out the coffee shops at the western chain hotels which often have US newspapers and copies of China Daily.
