Writer:   | Editor: Stephanie Yang  | From:  | Updated: 2017-04-18

Meaning:

"即" in this context means "on the spot, at the moment," "视" means "vision," and "感" means "feeling." This term, borrowed from the Japanese term "既视感," which means "deja vu," or "already seen," expresses a feeling that something resembles another thing one has seen before. Netizens also use it to describe a virtual image or something that is "very vivid," as if it is real.

Example

A: 你在看什么?

Nǐ zài kàn shénme?

What are you watching?

B: 我同学的婚礼现场视频。

Wǒ tóngxué de hūnlǐ xiànchǎng shìpín。

The video of my classmate's wedding ceremony.

B: 那么高大上,好莱坞大片即视感啊!

Nàme gāodàshàng, hǎoláiwū dàpiān jìshìgǎn a!

That is really high-end, almost looks like a scene from a Hollywood blockbuster!
