With the theme of “Reading the World,” the 2017 Hong Kong Book Fair will be held next month at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
The week-long literary and cultural extravaganza is a reflection of the public’s love of reading and fondness for cultural activities. Books, stationery, compact discs and other media will be on sale.
The first Hong Kong Book Fair was held in 1990. The fair has become a major annual event in Hong Kong with the number of visitors reaching new highs every year. The organizer, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), has strived to promote local reading culture. Apart from extensively inviting the public to the fair to visit and buy books, it also spares no effort in organizing diversified cultural activities during the book fair with a view to enhance the content and quality of the fair.
Breaking another attendance record in 2016, the seven-day fair welcomed close to 1.02 million visitors. The fair has developed from a mere promotion platform for the industry to an annual territory-wide major reading and cultural event for the public of Hong Kong.
Dates: July 19-25
Regular tickets: HK$25 (adults), HK$10 (children under 1.22m tall or primary school students)
Morning admission ticket: HK$10 (entry before noon)
Free tickets: Children under 3 and elderly over 65
Re-entry promotion: Regular tickets dated July 19-20 can enjoy free admission July 21-23 after 5 p.m. by presenting the whole stub attached to the admission ticket
