Meaning:
“社交” means to “socialize,” and “吸烟者” refers to “smokers.” This term, translated from the English term “social smokers,” refers to occasional users of tobacco, similar in the sense of “social drinkers.” A social smoker only smokes in social situations. It’s pretty self explanatory. A social smoker enjoys the added buzz they get when smoking with friends. Some people feel they need to smoke to fit in or be accepted, while others do it so as not to be left out when their friends go outside to chill.
Example:
A: 昨天我看见你弟弟和一群人在公园里吸烟。
Zuótiān wǒ kànjiàn nǐ dìdì hé yīqún rén zài gōngyuán lǐ xīyān。
I saw your younger brother smoking with a group of people in the park yesterday.
B: 他是社交吸烟者，偶尔吸一支。
Tā shì shèjiāo xīyān zhě, ǒu’ěr xī yīzhī。
He is a social smoker and occasionally smokes a cigarette.
