U.S. Manual Cinema will present the “Ada/Ava” stage show in Shenzhen in November.
美国Manual Cinema将于11月在深圳舞台上演光影偶剧《双生姊妹》。
Bereaved of her twin sister Ava, septuagenarian Ada solitarily marks time in the patterns of a life built for two. However, a traveling carnival and a trip to a mirror maze plunges her into a journey across the thresholds of life and death. Set in a New England Gothic landscape, “Ada/Ava” uses a story of the fantastic and supernatural to explore mourning and melancholy, self and other.
失去了双胞胎姐姐艾娃的七旬老人艾达，一直孤独的保持着姐姐在时两个人的生活习惯。然而，一场奇异狂欢节和一个怪异的镜子迷宫使她开启了一段跨越生命和死亡的时间之旅。《双生姊妹》的故事背景设置在了英格兰哥特式的风景中，用一个梦幻般的超自然的故事探索了对生命的哀悼。
Premiered in 2013, the charming, Gothic show is an exquisitely precise piece of visual storytelling that makes use of several overhead projectors, more than 400 puppets, and actors, live music and a soundscape that is attuned to every emotional nuance in the story. The result mixes the simplest shadow puppetry with the sophistication of a modern movie, but has all the liveliness and sense of shared experience that you get in theater.
《双生姊妹》结合了手工木偶、电影技术、创新的音效及音乐带观众进行了一场沉浸式的视觉之旅。表演团队使用老式投影仪、多个屏幕、现场摄影机、演员现场表演及现场多声道音乐合奏让观众改变以往观演经验，为观众创造出一个创新的观演形式。
Manual Cinema is a performance collective, design studio and film production company founded in 2010. It combines handmade shadow puppetry, cinematic techniques and innovative sound and music to create immersive visual stories for stage and screen. Using vintage overhead projectors, multiple screens, puppets, actors, live feed cameras, multi-channel sound design and a live music ensemble, Manual Cinema transforms the experience of attending the cinema and imbues it with liveliness, ingenuity and theatricality.
位于美国芝加哥的Manual Cinema成立于2010年，由五位有着不同艺术背景的艺术家共同建立。Manual Cinema致力于通过手工制作剪影木偶、电影主题、现场音效设计制造出身临其境的戏剧效果。公司利用高速摄像投影设备、高架投影仪、木偶和演员的配合、现场乐队等，用电影拍摄的手法来展现戏剧现场效果，他们的作品灵活、充满创造力和夸张手法。
