French accordionist Richard Galliano will collaborate with drummer Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla, grandson of Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla, for a show to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the master’s passing.
当代Piazzolla 最佳演绎者Richard Galliano，携手Astor Piazzolla之孙Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla，为深圳观众鼎力呈现最迷人的探戈五重奏。
After a long and intense period of musical studies, at age 14, in a search to expand his ideas on the accordion, Galliano began listening to jazz. Galliano was amazed that the accordion had never been part of this musical genre. He later won the first prize in the world accordion competition twice in 1966 and 1967.
Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) was a tango composer and bandoneon player. He revolutionized traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. Galliano performed Piazzolla’s pieces at many occasions and released an album “Piazzolla Forever” in 2003.
