Meaning:

“猪” means “pig,” and “女孩” refers to “girl.” This term, coined by Chinese netizens, caught on recently online. First used by someone on Sina Weibo, it refers to simple-minded optimistic girls who like good food and prefer watching shows at home to socializing at parties. It’s often used to describe oneself in a self-mocking manner, as the image of a pig is associated with food-loving, lazy and simple-minded people.

Example:

A: 感恩节快到了,我们办公室几个单身一起做一顿大餐吧。

Gǎn’ēnjié kuài dào le, wǒmen bàngōngshì jǐgè dānshēn yīqǐ zuò yīdùn dàcān ba。

Thanksgiving is coming. Let us singles in the office cook ourselves a big meal.

B: 我是猪猪女孩,喜欢吃但不想做,怎么办?

Wǒ shì zhūzhū nǚhái, xǐhuān chī dàn bùxiǎng zuò, zěnme bàn?

I am one they call a “piggy girl.” I’d love to eat but don’t feel like cooking. What do you say?

A: 你就负责采购吧。

Nǐ jìu fùzé cǎigòu ba。

Then you go shopping for the ingredients.
