Chinese folk singer Cheng Bi will hold a concert Jan. 26 at Shenzhen Poly Theater.
A Japanese-language graduate from Peking University, Cheng composes songs using the poems of Bei Dao and Shuntarou Tanikawa as her lyrics and is acclaimed as a poetic songwriter. In 2015, Cheng wrote a song “I Want to Idle the Time Away with You” that gained huge popularity in China. With this folk song spreading among music lovers, the idea of idling the time away has gained huge traction among young people and earned Cheng a number of new fans.
程璧，旅日音乐人，词曲创作者，华语金曲奖年度最 佳国语女新人。嗓音“又优美又沉静，又清亮又崭新”，被称为“离诗歌最近的声音”。
在北大读书期间，因爱上古典吉他的声音，开始学习音乐并尝试创作，为诗歌谱曲，包括中国诗人北岛、西川，日本诗人谷川俊太郎，土耳其诗人塔朗吉的作品。目前已发表音乐专辑《晴日共剪窗》、《诗遇上歌》、《我想和你虚度时光》、《早生的铃虫》，为中国民谣界带来一股回溯过往与正视简单生活的清风，以及些许童趣。她的音乐沉静透亮，有种纯净自然的魅力，体现“朴实、含蓄、留白”的生活审美。跨国文化的音乐元素，某些质朴情感的共通，都经过她个人风格化的处理。
