Photographer Li Xinzhao is exhibiting her photos featuring the people and landscape of Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Taxkorgan County is located in the eastern part of the Pamir Plateau, where the Kunlun, Karakoram, Hindukush and Tianshan mountains come together at the border with Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan.
The photographer said that although the county is cold, remote and impoverished, she was impressed by the enthusiastic and friendly people there. “I was touched by the clean and peaceful expression in their eyes. Most of the women there wore brightly colored clothes but were harmoniously blended into the vast and bleak nature around them.”
位于世界屋脊上的帕米尔高原，在无垠的天空下，宁静祥和地呼吸与吐纳。蔚蓝无边的天空下，远处的雪峰连绵逶迤，凌厉高耸，湖泊像是太阳不小心落下的一颗颗绿宝石，河流看似蜿蜒绵柔的蓝色缎带，望不尽的黑色沥青公路一直向前方延伸，在这里，世界是静谧的颜色。
在这平均海拔3200米以上的高原深处，是全国唯一的塔吉克民族自治县——塔什库尔干县（简称塔县），也是高原、高寒、边境、贫困县。这片看似苍凉的土地却养育了美丽热情的塔吉克族，他们是“太阳的子民”。
离太阳最近的塔县一年几乎只有两个季节，长达七八个月的寒冷冬季以及给帕米尔带来生机与色彩的夏季，春、秋季则倏忽而逝。
2009年，摄影艺术家李馨曌在无意中踏入了这方遥远的净土，被淳朴的塔吉克人眼神里流露出的安静与力量所沉迷，便毅然舍弃了在时尚设计圈的成功事业，而选择驻扎在塔县，开始“穿越无人所知的塔什库尔干”系列摄影工作。
“我希望自己的作品可以指向一种美好的存在，带领观者来到一块遥远纯净之地，有心灵的触动。”
