AN old man, who had been lost for more than 50 hours, reunited with his family with the help of Guangming New Area police, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.
The Yutang Police Station in Guangming received a phone call from a local citizen Friday afternoon, saying that an old man was squatting under the bridge of an expressway and was reluctant to leave. He was also unwilling to respond when people inquired about his condition.
The police went to the scene after the call. As the man looked nervous, communication didn’t go very well. They brought him back to the police station and took care of him, while sending out a citywide notice to find his family.
On Saturday afternoon, the police found the man’s son.
The son said the old man had wandered away while they were going for a walk Thursday afternoon. To the son’s surprise, his father had walked from Songgang, Bao’an District to Yutang, Guangming New Area alone.
Before the police found the old man, he had been lost for nearly 30 hours. The son expressed sincere gratitude to the police.
