Dongmen is a shopping area and subdistrict within Luohu District of Shenzhen, centered around the Dongmen Pedestrian Street. It encompasses the entire series of connecting commercial streets. These streets were closed off to automobile traffic and turned pedestrian in 1999.
As one of the older parts of Shenzhen, the Dongmen area was established about 300 years ago as the centre of Shum Chun Hui, a town that would later develop into the city. This leads it to be alternatively known as "Laojie" (lit. "Old Street").
Add: North of Shennan East Road, Luohu District.
Metro: Line 1 and Line 3, Exit A, Laojie Station (老街站)
