ON-THE-JOB and retired employees of enterprises and institutions will be covered by the city’s auxiliary medical insurance for serious diseases by paying 29 yuan (US$4.59) between May 1 and June 30.
The insurance covers the period from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
The Shenzhen Municipal Social Insurance Fund Management Bureau will deduct the payment from personal accounts of the employees unless they apply to not be covered by the auxiliary insurance. Those who don’t want to pay for the insurance can log onto the personal page of the official website of the bureau at https://e.szsi.gov.cn/siservice/ to apply for an exemption between June 1 and 30, or they can reply “No” to the text-message notice they will receive between June 3 and 10, the bureau announced yesterday at a news conference. The deadline for replying is June 20.
Employers that pay the insurance for employees must apply for exemptions between May 1 and 29 or pay the fees between May 2 and 30 by submitting applicant lists to the official website of the Shenzhen Municipal Social Insurance Fund Management Bureau and paying the fees at www.pingan.com /sz20.
The Shenzhen Co. of Ping An Pension Insurance Co. Ltd. is the contractor of the program for the 2017-2020 contract period.
Shenzhen initiated the auxiliary insurance for serious diseases in 2015 to benefit the public. By the end of March, a total of 3.98 million yuan had been paid out over three years.
