Smart City Intl. Expo set for Aug.

The Fourth China Smart City International Expo 2018 (CSCE) will be held from Aug. 21 to 23 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, according to a news conference held by the Shenzhen government yesterday.

The fourth CSCE will be jointly hosted by the China Center for Urban Development, and the Shenzhen government and smart cities development alliance. This exposition is also supported and sponsored by Ping An Insurance (Group) Co. of China, Ltd., and will be organized by Braim International Convention and Exhibition Group Co. Ltd.

The exposition will focus on the theme “Digital China and Intelligent Society.” It will comprise four exhibition areas, featuring the achievements of new smart cities, solutions and applications, smart industries and future technologies, and future lives and interactive experiences.

These exhibition areas will present excellent cases of smart cities from home and abroad, achievements of the digital economy and other cutting-edge technologies, and may occupy over 30,000 square meters. Groups from England, Japan and South Korea will participate in the exposition.

The exposition not only aims to display the latest achievements but also to establish a platform for communication and cooperation between enterprises and scientific research groups around the world, according to Feng Kui, secretary general of the China Center for Urban Development. More than 400 enterprises and about 10,000 participants have been invited to attend the exposition.

An app called “Smart City” will be used to spread the latest news and provide a platform for online displays.

He Jishan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said the 12th Management Forum of the Chinese Academy of Engineering will be held along with the exposition. More than 10 forums focusing on smart cities, such as a workshop on international cooperation and a Sino-British summit on future cities, will be held.

Officials and business elites from the New York Bay Area, San Francisco Bay Area, Tokyo Bay Area and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will attend the forums to share their opinions about international models for constructing bay areas as well as strategic development in the construction of smart cities.
