Shenzhen Airlines will open a direct flight from Shenzhen to Heathrow Airport in London on Oct. 30, the company said.
The company started the sale of the air tickets for this flight on its official website Friday.
This route will be operated by an Airbus 330 wide-body aircraft every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The flight leaves Shenzhen at 2:30 p.m. and arrives in London at 7:30 p.m. (local time). The return flight departs from London at 9:30 p.m. local time and lands in Shenzhen at 5:40 p.m. the next day.
During the promotional period until Dec. 10, travelers can enjoy a minimum price of a round trip for 3,500 yuan including taxes (US$526) in the economy cabin.
In another development, an aircraft of Shenzhen Airlines that was en route from Wuhan to Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, drove off the runway as it was descending at Baita International Airport on Saturday. The airport was temporarily closed but no injuries were reported.
The incident is under investigation.
