A pavilion showcasing brands from all around the world is expected to be set up in Shenzhen by the end of the year, the Nanfang Daily reported.

The National Brand Pavilion project was approved to be set up in the advertising industrial park in Bao’an District by the former State Administration for Industry and Commerce, which has since been restructured as the State Administration for Market Regulation, last year.

The Bao’an District Government will build and manage the pavilion.

Qin Shijie, deputy director of the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, said last August that the pavilion would be established in order to put the national strategy of branding and advertising into practice.

Shenzhen has been emphasizing the brand-building economy as a key driver for the economic development over the past few years. The city’s market and quality supervision commission issued a four-year action plan from 2017 to 2020 that aims to upgrade Shenzhen’s brands, pledging to turn Shenzhen into a “Capital of Brands.”

There will be various halls in the National Brand Pavilion, showcasing well-known Chinese brands, Asian brands, European brands and brands from all around the world.

Other institutions will also enter the pavilion, such as a brand monitoring center, a brand incubating foundation, a research institute for national brands and a news center for national brands.

The National Brand Pavilion’s operating team said it is currently working on standards to certify national brands, which will be released by the national standardization management commission in December next year.

The operating team is also applying for permission to organize the 2019 World Brand Conference on May 10, the third China Brand Day, and to release a comprehensive index report on national brands as well as the Shenzhen Declaration on National Brands.

The Chinese Brands Hall is currently under construction. Widely known brands, including Huawei, Vanke, Tencent, JD.com. SF Express, DJI Innovation and BGI, will be settling into the hall once it’s completed.
