S.C. MATTHIAS LI, chief executive of Ocean Park Hong Kong, led the park’s management team to Guangzhou and presented a series of cross-border travel packages for mainland tourists to South China media at Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe yesterday.

“Ocean Park is dedicated to expanding its most important sources of mainland tourists under the Individual Visit Scheme. We are actively looking for ways that allow visitors to travel easily and directly from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and West Kowloon station of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) to Ocean Park,” added Li.

The management team announced three new travel packages that combine tickets for transportation and park admission, as well as a special ticket for visiting Ocean Park twice within six months to make visits more convenient for tourists from the mainland.

“It will only cost between 540 yuan and 570 yuan (US$ 83.5) for the two-visit special ticket,” introduced Ma Li, chief representative of Ocean Park Hong Kong for East and South China.

“We will offer a special package starting Sept. 23, when the XRL opens, and ending Dec. 31. If tourists buy a high-speed train ticket to Hong Kong and an admission ticket to Ocean Park, they will get a free food package valued at 100 yuan as a gift. For example, the package price for tourists traveling from Shenzhen is around 415 yuan, which includes the high-speed train ticket, the admission ticket to Ocean Park and the food package of 100 yuan. The package price for travelers from Guangzhou is around 585 yuan,” explained Ma.
