A weeklong technology innovation forum, starting today, will be held at Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK(SZ)) welcoming professors and researchers from Stanford University to give seven public talks and inaugurate a Maker Lab at the university.
All of the talks spotlighting the latest technological innovations, such as interactive autonomy, hardware hacking, Internet of Things and machine learning, will be open to the public free of charge at the First Annual Stanford-CUHKSZ Technology Innovation Forum.
The forum summit, and a panel discussion focused on maker culture, is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the university’s Dao Yuan Building, with seven professors from Stanford University as the panelists.
One of the talks will be delivered by Professor Dorsa Sadigh. Her talk, planned for tomorrow afternoon, will focus on interactive autonomy.
Sadigh is an assistant professor in computer science and electrical engineering at Stanford University. Her research interests lie in the intersection of robotics, learning and control theory, and algorithmic human-robot interaction. Specifically, she is working on developing efficient algorithms for autonomous systems that safely and reliably interact with people.
Another talk on building a secure Internet of Things will be organized Wednesday evening by an associate professor at the world-leading university, Philip Levis, who will be introducing a collaborative project between Stanford and UC Berkeley on building a secure and dependable IOT known as the Secure Internet of Things Project (SITP).

In recent years, CUHK(SZ) has been making progress at collaborating with well-known universities around the globe.
The university announced last week that it had reached multiple deals with several universities over the summer holiday, providing more overseas programs for its students. CUHK(SZ) expanded its circle of partners by adding the University of Warwick, the University of Queensland, the University of California Irvine and the University of California, San Diego.
Starting in 2019, CUHK(SZ) will participate in mutual exchange programs with the University of Warwick. Sophomores and above from the faculties of management, engineering and the arts, who meet the requirements, can apply for a one-semester or one-year exchange program to study at the University of Warwick.
Students at CUHK(SZ) can also choose to obtain two degrees — one from the Chinese university and one from one of the other three new partner universities — by joining joint programs that require more years of study.
So far, CUHK(SZ) has formed partnerships with 74 universities around the world.
