Peyman Yazdanian, an award-winning Iranian pianist and composer, will give a recital of his scores for movies in Shenzhen this week.

Yazdanian has written over 40 pieces for solo piano and has composed for both national and foreign featured films. He has also written original soundtracks for plays and multimedia. His soundtracks for Chinese movies include Li Yu’s “Buddha Mountain” (2011), Lou Ye’s “Spring Fever” (2009) and “Mystery” (2012).

Yazdanian got his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Sharif University of Technology and has taken part in a few piano master classes from Gerhard Geretschlaeger at the Konservatorium Wien University and Ernest Hozel at the Graz Conservatory. He also has taken a few conducting lessons with Iradj Sahbai. He won first prize at the Concours Musical de France (CMF) in 2000.
