More than 170 relics from Xianyang Museum in Shaanxi Province are on display at Nanshan Museum.

Xianyang was the capital of the state of Qin in 350 B.C. In 221 B.C., the king of Qin eliminated all six other vassal states to establish the first centralized empire in Chinese history. Xianyang became the center of politics, economy and culture of the short-lived Qin Dynasty (221-207 B.C.). Later, the Han Dynasty (202 B.C.-220 A.D.) used it as a mausoleum for burying the dead.
From the end of the 1950s until the middle of the 1990s, archaeologists discovered and excavated a large number of Qin era sites in Xianyang, including palaces, workshops and tombs.
Originally a Confucian Temple, Xianyang Museum opened to the public in 1962 after reconstruction and expansion. The exhibits contain some of the best artifacts from various large imperial tombs and ruins around Xianyang.
