Themed “Creating a first-level business environment, building a credit economic highland,” the 9th South China Credit Management Forum was held at Vanke (Qianhai) International Convention Center yesterday, gathering representatives from across the country including government officials, experts and enterprise representatives.

“As one of the earliest cities in China to carry out the construction of the social credit system, Shenzhen sticks to the principles of ‘government driven, social participation, co-building and co-sharing, stressing practical results.’ After dozens of years of exploration and accumulation, we have made some achievements in the construction of systems,” said Wu You, vice secretary general of the Shenzhen Municipal Government.

According to Wu, since 2001 the city has released regulations to regulate the collection and use of individual and enterprise credit information.

“Credit is an important cornerstone for a socialist market economy. It plays an important role in creating a first-level business environment, and facilitating economic development and the progress of social civilization. The People’s Bank of China, as one of the initiating units in building the social credit system, is committed to the establishment of a widely covered credit information collection system and to enhancing the level of sharing credit information,” said Li Simin, vice president of the People’s Bank of China Guangzhou Branch.

Wang Jinxia, vice director of the Authority of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area, explained the current situation of the credit system in Qianhai. The social credit system is a key area for reform and innovation in Qianhai. Its project, a “cross-departmental collaborative supervision platform,” has been recognized with a national top 10 practical achievement award for credit application.
