Didi Premier, Express and Pool services will link T3 of the Shenzhen airport with its 27 urban waiting halls in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan and Zhongshan starting January 2019, according to an agreement signed between the two parties.

Under the agreement, air travelers flying from Shenzhen will be able to take Didi cars directly to T3 after checking in at one of the 27 urban waiting halls and going through the designated security check lanes.

The airport-ground transport service will greatly save time and money for travelers.

The waiting halls will be designated as Didi stops and offer parking spaces for Didi cars. The airport will also designate off-line Didi service stations and rest areas for travelers at the ground traffic center to provide a better riding experience for Didi passengers.

In addition, Didi will use big data to optimize its resources to improve the airport-ground transport efficiency during peak hours, at midnight and in the early morning, the company said.

Didi Premier, Express and Pool are all services provided by Didi Chuxing, one of the major app-based car-hailing service providers in the country.

Official data showed Didi cars account for 18 percent of the ground traffic at the Shenzhen airport every day.

The two sides signed a strategic cooperation framework in 2017. Didi began by helping the Shenzhen airport optimize its parking service in the P3 parking lot by using electronic fences to block nonDidi vehicles from picking up passengers inside the parking lot or in the pick-up lanes.

The Shenzhen airport has also extended the free parking period in the waiting areas for app-based cabs to 30 minutes.
