Shenzhen traffic police will impose traffic controls on the route of the Bao’an Marathon, which will be held between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

A total of 20,000 runners will participate in the event, including the full and half marathons and a fun run.

Police will impose road controls at Haibin Square, the starting point of the race, and on the nearby roads including Haixiu Road, Baohua Road and Baoxing Road.

Along the route, police will impose dynamic controls on Chuangye No. 1 Road, Yu’an Road, Bao’an Boulevard, Fengtang Boulevard, Yi’an West Road and Xingye Road, according to the progress of the race.

As the race will affect the traffic on the roads, especially on Bao’an Boulevard, Luotian Road and Xinhu Road, drivers are advised to take other roads, like Xixiang Boulevard and the riverside expressway. Drivers to the Shenzhen airport and Fuyong Ferry Port are advised to take the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway and National Highway 107 to Jichang South Road.

Runners are advised to take public transport, such as Metro Lines 5 and 11, as there are no parking lots available.
