Hoildaymakers to Shenzhen Fairylake Botanical Garden during the Spring Festival holiday must make online reservations for tickets starting tomorrow.

Those below 15 or above 60 can apply for free admission to the park online through the WeChat account of the park management, according to a plan released by the Luohu District Government.

On Feb. 4, the eve of Chinese New Year, the park management will impose exit-only controls between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Feb. 5, the park has capped the number of tickets for visitors at 20,000. During the rest of the holiday, the park will be open between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. with a daily ceiling of 50,000 visitors.

To ensure safety, police will impose traffic controls between Feb. 4 and 10 on Luosha Road, Xianhu Road, Lianshi Road and Panshan Road, so holiday visitors without online reservations or passes will not be allowed to enter the controlled area.

For those visiting the park and Hongfa Temple for holiday blessings, Luohu District will arrange buses to the botanical garden from Yijing Metro Station on Line 5 and Huangbeiling Metro Station on Line 2. Riders can take the buses for two yuan (US$0.29) after showing their online reservation information and ID cards.

Besides the Spring Festival, during which police will impose controls on vehicles, on other holidays and weekends, drivers who have to park vehicles in the parking facility at the entrance, inside the botanical garden or on Xianhu Road must make reservations.

Reservations for parking inside the park can be made by contacting the park management or Hongfa Temple. Those without reservations won’t be allowed to enter the park.

The parking facility at the entrance of the park is open for reservations by individuals on weekends and holidays, such as New Year’s Day, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

Based on the number of parking spaces in the area, police offer 480 reservations a day for the parking facility at the entrance to the park and 300 for the parking spaces inside the park.

Drivers can reserve parking spaces for the next two days via the police WeChat account, official police website or a reservation QR code.

The botanical garden is the third place in Shenzhen where police have adopted a reservation system for vehicles, following Dapeng and Meisha, to limit the number of vehicles.

The park in Liantang, Luohu District, is often crowded with visitors on holidays and weekends, especially during the Spring Festival, when many people go to Hongfa Temple to receive blessings. Xianhu Road is the only road to the park and it is often congested during holidays.
