Costumes designed by Tim Yip shown at the exhibition.
“Blue” is the starting point for this exhibition: It plays on ideas and symbolization from the nature of human imagination to the depths of the subconscious mind, from collective history to human memory.
The exhibition, curated by Mark Holborn, is separated into three stages, bringing to life Yip’s multidisciplinary works along with his collaborations with some of the world’s best filmmakers.
The first stage features 21 costumes from film and theater, prominently focusing on the original costumes from Ang Lee’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” as well as John Woo’s “Red Cliff” and “The Banquet” directed by Feng Xiaogang. ▼
The second and the third stages of the exhibition introduce a series of photography and film projects focused on Yip’s ongoing muse and creation.▼
