The annual Art Basel, to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on March 29-31, features premier galleries from Asia and beyond.
Visitors at a previous Art Basel in Hong Kong.
The show provides an in-depth overview of the region’s diversity through both historical material and cutting-edge works by established and emerging artists.
The “Galleries” sector presents art from the world’s leading modern and contemporary art galleries, displaying paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, films, videos and digital artworks from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The “Kabinett” sector participants present curated exhibitions in an architecturally delineated space within their booths. The curatorial concepts in the sector aim to highlight diverse perspectives through thematic group exhibitions, art-historical showcases and solo shows for rising stars.
Dedicated to presenting large-scale sculpture and installation works by leading artists from around the world, “Encounters” provides visitors with the opportunity to see works that transcend the traditional art fair stands, presented in prominent locations throughout the exhibition halls.
“Insights” presents precisely-curated projects highlighting artists. The sector allows insights into artists’ careers, particular themes and art periods from 1900 through the present day.
“Discoveries” gives a powerful platform to emerging contemporary artists, showcasing works by the next generation of talent at an early stage in their career.
The “Film” sector presents an exciting program of short films and special screenings by and about artists.
Art Basel is open to the public. A limited number of tickets can be purchased at the venue, so the organizers suggest advance ticket purchase to avoid the lines. You can purchase advance tickets at hkticketing.com or call (00852) 3128-8288.
